Looking to be more productive and less scattered? Read on to find out how to become more purposeful using some mindfulness exercises instead of getting to the end of your day and forgetting what you set out to do in the morning.

Some days are super productive and you get done everything you set out to do in the morning . . . . . with time to spare! Other days you can't complete a single task and the end of your day sneaks up on you without warning! Let's talk about how to have more "successful" days than "unproductive" days in a week.
Many times you are so caught up in your own tasks or so distracted by the sounds and activities around you (or both at the same time!) that your mind isn't able to really make sense of any of the inputs.
These techniques can be applied to your work life or your home life, your life with your friends and family or life with your spouse and children.
Becoming more mindful
"Mindfulness" is just a catch word that the public likes to use these days to talk about purpose driven choices. The first step to take toward having a "mindful" lifestyle is simply recognizing what is going on around you. Stop where you are right now and see how many things you can hear. Make a list of all of the distinct sounds you hear for the next 30 seconds. Especially take note of the things your mind normally filters out - a fan buzzing in the background, your co-workers typing, your child breathing, the distant sounds of a construction site. Congratulations you have just practiced your first "mindfulness exercise"!! #mindfulness #mindfulliving #meditationworks
The key to "mindful living" is everyday practice. I know that you are saying you don't have time for this and your boss (and by 'boss' I may be talking about your child . . . . .) will kill you if you take 15 minutes each day to "be still and listen". What if your day was more productive just because you took one 15 minute break to really listen to what is going on around you? After your break your work will be more focused and you will be in a place to finish the project (and by 'project' I may be talking about that game that MUST be played) that has been looming over you.
